Welcome

Welcome to my Blog. And a big thank you in advance for giving your time to "listen" to my views on anything under the sun, but mainly the game of cricket. Till now I have bored my friends with my emails; till now I have benifited from their tolerance. So folks, here am I with my Blog..I can not promise to be unpretentious or tolerant at all times. However being aware of my frailties, I promise to try my best. Good thing is, I can accept both these vices from others, including an occassional abuse of English language. What is there in a language any ways? Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi, Australian all are welcome here as long as I can understand. So go on, join in a robust conversation..

  1. Deepakbhai- very happy to see that you have eventually found an eExpressiom. It is well said that one must Jace passion and that works as spices work in food. As I know from childhood, you have solid command over language and the subject. So, reading (listening) your blog is like watching Sachin scoring the fastest century in few balls (I do not know the record). Keep it up. - chetan

  2. Thanks Chetan. Would love to see your contributions; they do not have to be on cricket. For me cricket is just an excuse to start a conversation..

  5. Hello Uncle,
    Excellent start..!!!
It is always pleasure to know your thoughts on different issues especially games and cricket.
Well, as it is said "Journey of thousand miles starts with first step", we will certainly have pleasure of reading your first book on cricket in next decade if not long.
All the best and keep it up.
    Regards,
    Manish

  6. Thanks Manish for encouraging words. This is my labour of love. Book I am not sure about..I remember what one great writer/thinker once said. You may remember him being an Amdavadi...Fr Wallace, maths teacher at St. Xaviers College. He mastered Gujarati inspite of being Spanish. He said once in an interview that initially he wrote to provide some guidence/help to young adults. His writings became less inspiring and more preaching. When he started writing for the love of it, his readers loved it more. What a lovely thought..I always keep that in mind and try to write with as much heart as with mind. With my talents, I need to solely depend upon finding an expression for my emotions...words do not come that easily to me unless I am revved up!!

  11. WOW !!!! What an awesome display of power hitting by the Aussies Warner & Watson) in tonight's Twenty20 .It was fun to watch. If this is an entree for the upcoming Twenty20 world cup and IPL, I think it's time for me to get Foxtel connected.

Also, what a performance by the entire Aussie cricket team in all 3 versions this summer. To go through undefeated in my opinion is a fantastic performance. Yes, I do understand they played lower ranked teams, however "Hat's off" to the Aussies, super effort.

  12. Yes Hetal, I have to agree that Aussies have displayed great form and total ruthlessness. Not a lot of champion sides I have seen in past have been able to do the same, even at home. While their opponents this season have been relatively weaker, it is often difficult to maintain focus against moderate opposition. However, I would not get too excited about aussie chances, not as yet. I believe Australia-New Zealand series will be a cracker. Also I still believe they are looking at a huge challenge in next year's Ashes campaign.
IPL has been a terrific tournament for last two years. Believe you me, those who haven't watched it yet are poorer for that. T20 is not only here to stay; it will revitalise cricket, though it may spell death for 50 overs cricket. I am blogging that in my next Late cut.

  13. Talking about great performances what about the GREATEST ODI batting by the "little master" Tendulka yesterday. First to reach 200 in a limited over match, WOW !!! I definately have to get Foxtel. Unfortunately I totally forgot the match was on, therefore missing it on the live WEB stream. I was updated by my work mate, and may I say what wonderful news it was to hear first thing in the morning by one of the most "one-eyed" Aussie cricket supporters I have ever met. Thank's Sachin for making my day.

ps. Deep, nice change to the colour scheme, easy on the eye.
